Sir,
Re: Testament of Youth (Sunday October 2)
Having just read Rafael Behr's jaundiced view of an Israel he claims has "a stake in his identity" which he says is being held hostage there, I just wonder if he visited the same country I have just returned from. Believe me Israel stakes no claim to the likes of Rafael Behr who clearly knows little about the reality even for someone who admits he has not been there for years Innuendo, snide remarks, his rubbishing of airport security, lack of knowledge of history and warped views of issues such as the security fence and what he calls the "eradication of Arab settlements", makes this nostalgic trip one that shows his bias and his ignorance.
Rafael Behr's blog says "He loves truth and justice. He hates falsehood". What a shame he did not demonstrate those qualities in writing about the Israel I know and love and which bears little or no resemblance to the one he portrayed.
