In response to the accusations of apartheid of your writer McGreal is easy to find evidence-based answers.
I suggest a prospective trial whereby your writers can dress as Arabs and walk around the Israeli cities of Jerusalem,Tel-Aviv and Netanya. They may then change into Jewish dress and tour Kalkilya, Tulkarem and Ramalla and then compare their experiences, in the lucky case they survive the second round.
