There have been many bitter
complaints about The Guardian's unbalanced anti-Israeli stand and language
during the past three and half years. Our frustration finally led
Take-A-Pen to label the Guardian as Liar of the
Month April 2004. You can see our Letter to
The Guardian announcing their 'Title" - citing
Maurice Ostroff's full
Reader's Letter.
But then an important positive thing happened. The Guardian's Ombudsman,
Mr. Ian Mayes, contacted me and after a friendly discussion, he published
on May 29, a sincere and honest correction on The Guardian's website.
The full report of Ombudsman Ian Mayes: under the title "A dangerous kind
of ambiguity" may be seen by double clicking on

The Ombudsman's honest report and attention to our complaint will make a
very positive contribution in improving the Guardian's strongly
questioned reputation as a guardian of the truth. We now hope for a
continuing fair exchange with The Guardian. As a result of Mr. Mayes'
positive intervention we have renamed this section not only a "Watch" but
also a "Dialogue".
We invite everybody who has a politely written well-based factual
complaint, to write to the "The Guardian" letters@guardian.co.uk
with a copy to
editor@take-a-pen.org
Wishing all the best to the truth and to You,
Endre Mozes
