Anti-Zionism: Age-old hatred in a modern dress

Dear Sir,

I wish to commend Howard Jacobson on his excellent article today, "Let's see the criticism of Israel for what it is". However I really do not know why he bothered.  Judging by the comments on the article he is talking to a brick wall.  Any facts, logic and reason presented to Israel-hating "anti-Zionists" in defence of Israel become immediately suspect because of (paraphrasing a comment) "the author's name" (it's Jewish), his "Zionist credentials", or "Zionist control of the British media", thereby raising the old anti-Semitism spectre, or simply because such facts defend Israel which of course is unacceptable in their eyes.  

In other words it would seem that Israel-haters in particular will not allow themselves to be confused by facts, and are so blinded by their prejudice that they are unable to accept what their prejudice truly represents: the age-old hatred in a modern dress.
